충남 예산 출생으로 충남대학교 화공과(학사, 석사) 졸업 후 독일 도르트문트대학교에서 화공학 박사 취득했다. 독일 마르틴 부처 신학교(B.A)를 마치고 목사 안수를 받았다. 대학 1학년 때 예수님을 만나 기쁨에 넘쳐 대학선교 위해 일하기 시작해 독일 도르트문트대학교와 보쿰대학교에서도 현지인 대학생들 위한 일대일 성경선생으로 선교사로 그리고 주일 설교자로 일하였다. 대한예수교장로회(개혁) 유럽노회 초대 노회장을 역임했다.I was born in 1949 in Yesan, South Korea. I studied chemical engineering at Chungnam National University(Master of Engineering). I then earned my doctorate in chemical engineering from the University of Dortmund in Germany(Doctor of Natural Sciences). I also studied theology at the Martin Bucer Seminary(Bachelor) and was ordained as a pastor.During my first year of studies in Korea, I encountered Jesus Christ. Filled with joy at salvation, I began to dedicate myself to student ministry. Since 1978, I have been working in student ministry in Dortmund and, since 1987, in Bochum, where I have led Sunday services.I was also the first chairman of the European Presbytery of the Korean Presbyterian Church(Reformed).
