누구나 그러하듯 『행복』하고 싶었다. 하지만 그의 삶은 행복과 거리가 멀었다. 그저 가난하기 때문에 행복하지 않는 줄로 알았다. 그러다가 스물다섯 살에 진짜 행복을 찾았다. 그가 찾은 행복은 돈이나 좋은 환경이 아니었다. 예수 그리스도를 통해 하나님을 만나게 된 것이다. 그는 그 어떤 말로도 표현 못 할 행복을 느꼈다. 이 사건은 그의 인생 전환점이 되어 복음을 전하는 전도자로 지금까지 살아가고 있다.그는 다민족 선교가 곧 세계복음화라고 생각한다.또한 복음가진 후대 한 명이 한 시대라는 생각으로 후대사역과 다민족 사역을 평생 사역의 방향으로 잡았다. 그는 “앞으로도 선교여행(vision trip)은 계속되어야 한다.”고 말한다.그는 대한예수교장로회 아산임마누엘교회 담임목사로 시무하고 있으며, 중부노회 13대 노회장을 역임했다.
