영어책에서도 소설처럼 이야기성을 말할 수 있고 감정과 흐름을 표현할 수 있다고 믿는 영어책 저술가이다. 영어의 호흡을 잘 보여줄 수 있도록 그들의 말과 글을 찾고 부지런히 익히는 방법을 제시하고 있다.한국외국어대학교에서 한국어와 영어를 전공했다. 대학을 졸업한 후 7년간 종로 외국어학원에서 초보자들의 영어 실력 향상을 위해 자신만의 영어 노하우를 개발했으며, 이후 1988년 KBS FM Radio를 통해 방송계에 입문했다. MBC Radio, CBS Radio를 거쳐서 1990년 SBS TV 아침 생활영어 진행자로 발탁되어 방송영어 스타로 자리매김했다.
