  작가 소개

지은이 : 고광섭
해군사관학교를 졸업하고, 미국 클락슨대학교에서 전자공학 박사학위를 취득한 공학자이자 항법학자다.해군사관학교와 국립목포해양대학교 교수로 재직하며 평생을 바다, 선박, 해양과학 연구에 헌신해 온 그는, 항법·위성항법 분야의 전문성과 실무경험을 바탕으로 이순신과 거북선에 관한 연구에 과학적 분석 기법과 실증 중심의 사료 검증 방식을 적용해 왔다.그는 역사적 사안에 공학적 분석을 결합하는 융합적 접근을 통해, 그동안 신화처럼 여겨졌던 주제들을 구체적 수치와 지도로 재구성하고, 역사·지리·기술을 아우르는 새로운 해전사 해석 모델을 제시하였다.이러한 연구 방식은 한국 해군사 연구의 지평을 넓혔을 뿐만 아니라, 교육 및 정책 차원에서도 활용 가능한 형태로 확장되고 있다.예비역 해군대령이기도 한 그는, 전통과 기술, 역사와 과학의 가교 역할을 수행하며 이순신 연구의 미래적 가치를 넓히는 데에도 주력하고 있다.
